PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This mural was created in partnership with Groundswell, The LGBT Center and Farrow & Ball Paints.  The completed mural was installed temporarily for exhibition at Farrow & Ball and found a permanent home at the Center.

The goal of this project was to explore issues of tolerance and equality for LGBT community. In addition to addressing this goal, participants deepened their understanding and appreciation of art through observation, imagination and discussion, engaging in activities that explored color, design, conceptualization, visual communication and creativity.

This mural project was widely responded to with encouragement, praise, and positivity on behalf of those involved and observant. The LGBT Center staff, residents, and visitors wholeheartedly welcomed the creation of the mural with enthusiasm and support, as with Farrow & Ball and attendees of the show at their store. The youth participants responded in respect to their growth through the experience of working on this project.
