PROJECT DESCRIPTION
In spring 2008, Groundswell partnered with Youth-For-R.E.A.L. to create a mural in the lobby of their new headquarters. The mural theme was based on Youth For Real’s “career visions” program, and the founding principles of the organization.
The mural is divided into two sections: The first comprises of an image of four children holding a banner that says “Who Will They Become?” Above the children’s heads are thought bubbles that hold images taken directly from their career visions drawing activity. The second section of the mural is an image of arms “reaching for the stars” (Youth-For-R.E.A.L.’s slogan). The banner from the first section wraps around the arms and displays descriptive words about Youth-For-R.E.A.L.’s principles, and words that the youth felt best described their experiences with the program.
