PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This mural for The Lutheran Medical Center Chinese Ward centers on the image of the Crane. The Crane is the most popular bird in Chinese history and is a symbol of longevity and auspiciousness due to its exceptionally long live span. It represents a lasting soaring spirit, health and happiness. Bamboo, also featured prominently in the mural, is also a Chinese symbol for longevity because of its durability, strength, flexibility and resilience. It survives in the harshest conditions, and endures all of the brutalities dished out by mother nature- standing tall and green all year around.
