PROJECT DESCRIPTION
‘This too shall Pass’ is a mural created in two sections by 16 -18 year old incarcerated youth at the Austin H. McCormack Island Academy on Rikers Island. Eighteen youth worked with artists Bayunga Kialueka and Juan Villanueva to create the mural during January and February. The new murals complement ‘Incarcerated Minds’, the first mural that Groundswell created in partnership with the Department of Corrections and Island Academy in spring 2008. The finished mural was dedicated on March 17.
