PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The theme for this mural is reaching for the stars, following ones goals in life, and finding the path to success. The mural addressed the diverse programs that the Claremont Community Center offers, depicting figures on and around a jungle gym. Some are reading, others playing music, basketball, or carrying small children in a wagon. Images overlay a dreamer surrounded by stars and looking down a path which has a justice corps youth at its lowest point. The path rises into the sky where a child flies with a book in his/her hands. Butterflies represent beauty, wishes, children and freedom.
